Happy April! Originally, I was going to post this last Friday, but I was afraid you all would think it was an April Fool’s joke.  I hinted a while back that my travel plans for the year were changing, but didn’t say what they were as the plans were not final. The plans are now final, and I am so excited to share them with you.

Italy!  – I am going to Italy again! In late May, I am going to Italy for a month. What is really cool is that it is for my day job, so no vacation time is being used! I can’t believe how lucky I am to be able to do this. I will be taking a bookbinding and bookbinding restoration course while I am there. The course is being held in a small town called San Gemini in the Umbria region. While I will be in class during the week, I plan on exploring more of Italy on the weekends. This will be my third trip to Italy since moving to Qatar. If you want to see some of my past trips to Italy, please check out these posts: Driving in ItalyStunning VeronaA Visit to Monster Park, and Christmas in Rome.

Greece! – While in Egypt, we took a sailing trip up the Nile on a Felucca (post coming soon!). I enjoyed it so much; I immediately begin to think of places I could go on a sailing trip. Back in 2013, right after I arrived in Qatar, I had planned a trip to Athens. Unfortunately, I got sick on a trip to the U.S. and missed the trip to Athens. After doing some research, I decided I needed to go to Greece. One, so I could finally go and two, so I could sail the Greek Islands. In September, I will be going on a two-week sailing trip starting from Athens and continuing through the Cyclades. This will include stops in Santorini and Mykonos. This is a small sailboat experience, and the boat only holds about ten passengers and two crew. I will have the opportunity to learn to sail, and we will be exploring archeological sites on many islands. Best of all will be the relaxing on the boat and swimming.
