Friday Favorites

So I have packing down, well packing for me down. I make a list and cross things off as they go in. This is because if I don’t make a list, I forget it. Since I have been traveling to warm places most of the year, I have been packing the same thing on every trip mostly. What I am not good at is unpacking! It can take me over a week to get the suitcase unpacked. All the dirty stuff comes out right away, but the rest just sits in the suitcase. In fact, the suitcase I took to India is still sitting out, but it is unpacked. Since my trips to India and Thailand were so close together, I figured there was no reason to put it away! What about you? What kind of unpacker are you?

On a Trip to St. Croix – I have been thinking about the Caribbean a lot lately. I miss it and the beautiful beaches. Here is an island I would love to visit one day. Doesn’t it look so amazing!

Jungle of Oman – Oman has been on my list pretty much ever since I got to Qatar. This is one of the reasons. Every summer, the south of Oman turns into a cloud rainforest! In the middle of the desert, a rainforest appears! This article from CNN makes me want to plan a trip for next summer.

Fastest wi-fi on a flight – Lufthansa is going to be bringing the fastest wi-fi in the sky to us soon. I have mixed feelings about this. I have had wi-fi on flights but haven’t used it much. It is nice to escape being connected while on a flight, but sometimes I wish I had it. The good news is they won’t allow Skype or Facetime on the planes. What do you think?

Best In-flight experiences for you money – Airlines have been rated by class to tell us what airlines are giving us for our money when we fly. It’s a great list to reference even if you aren’t flying in a premium class because they also tell us which ones have a good economy. I have also discovered that if they have good service in a premium class, then it is probably good in economy class.

Dear Expat, You Are Normal – I saw this blog post on how expats sometimes feel and I could totally relate. Even if you aren’t an expat, reading this is interesting.
