15 Airports You’ll Want to Have a Long Layover In – Business Insider UK gives a great list of 15 airports around the world that you won’t actually mind having a long layover in. The Schiphol Airport would be my choice for the museum and the library. I have been to the Dubai and Austin airport, but not long enough to explore them like this. Have you been to any of these cool airports?
Hilarious Safety Demonstration video – Here is one of the best funny safety videos I have seen. Many flight attendants do these, but this guy is over the top. Glad to see he enjoys his job!
Airbnb Taxi? – The Telegraph tells us about people who are renting out taxi cabs as Airbnb rentals. Um, I know this wouldn’t work for me since I must have a bathroom, but I guess it could work for some. Having lived in New York, I wonder about the noise and the safety aspect. What do you think?

I’ve been to ALL of those listed airports, unfortunately often without time to appreciate all they have to offer. Absolutely hated all the slot machines in the Las Vegas airport, but to each his own. I will add to the highlights of Singapore’s Airport which I have visited many times…a great little medical clinic (got treated for monkey bites), tiny bedrooms that you can rent by the hour and a multitude of really good bookstores for stocking up if you are a reader. I frequently had long stays in Brunei where there is almost nothing to do. I read pretty much everything I could find on the island in any language I could more or less understand. Finally gave up and took a day trip to Singapore just to buy 15 excellent books. Left them at the English Consulate when I departed the island.
Good article on the islands of Indonesia, such a beautiful place. And I would also highly recommend Zambia.
To add to being a good houseguest, invite the whole family out to a meal as your treat. Or if you’re cooking at home, do a market run. As for the presents you arrive with, try to think of things which are unavailable in the country you are visiting.
Yeah the slot machines wouldn’t be for me either! Yes, if anyone comes to visit me, I have a long list of American stuff you can bring me. Haha.
