GPSMyCity Article Apps and a Giveaway

September 26, 2016

GPSMyCityDoes this happen to you? You find the perfect article for your upcoming trip, and you bookmark it, and then you promptly forget to look at it while on your vacation. Or worse, you remember, but you don’t have data in that country, so you can’t read it! It never fails, that I get home, read the article and immediately realize I didn’t see something mentioned in the article. The GPSMyCity app is going to change all that for you. Not only will you have the article, but you will also have GPS directions to all attractions mentioned in the article.

How GPSMyCity Works

GPSMyCity partners with bloggers, like me, to take articles they written and turns them into GPS-guided walking tours. Once you download the app, you can search for articles on cities you are traveling to next. You can then save the article to be available offline or upgrade the article for a small fee ($1.99). Upgrading the article will enable to GPS coordinates and provides you with a private city walking tour. The best part is you don’t need data or wifi for this to work! Never worry about data charges or getting lost again.

Thinking this is an awesome concept!? I do, and I want you to be able to try it out for free. Some of my blog posts have been turned into GPSMyCity walking-tours! For the next week, September 26, 2016, through October 2, 2016, I am giving you the upgraded article “There is More to Florence Museums than the David” for free!

Thanks to GPSMyCity for providing my readers a free upgrade. I do receive a small commission if you choose to upgrade my articles, which helps me maintain the blog.

6 Gifts for Travelers

Gifts for Travelers

This post may contain affiliate links. If you click on the link and make a purchase, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Do you have a traveler on your gift list this year? If you do, I have rounded up some of the great things I have found to give them this year. In addition, I also have a giveaway for you today, so make sure to read all the way through to read the details to enter the giveaway!

International USB Travel Adapter

Gifts for Travelers

I have one of these, and I love it. The one I have though is out of stock. This is the same brand. Most of the electronics I bring on trips are dual voltage, and I don’t need a converter. This allows your traveler to carry only on adaptor for all their USB adaptors.

1000 Places to See Before you Die

Gifts for Travelers

This is a must have for any traveler or travel dreamer in your life! It is the ultimate bucket list of places to go. What is really great, is that it gives you many places to see in each country and city. This means you also get a mini travel guide.

Travel Scarf with Hidden Zippered Pocket

Gifts for Travelers

No traveler can be too careful about carrying their valuables around while traveling. This infinity scarf has a hidden zippered compartment to make that possible. This scarf was designed by a fellow travel blogger, so you know it is well designed for its purpose. It is available in many fabrics of different weights and styles. There is even a neutral color if your male traveler would be interested.

Travel Seat Cushion
Any traveler who has to sit in economy class for more than a few hours will appreciate this self-inflating seat cushion. In fact, I just ordered myself one for my flight home for Christmas.

Travel Humidifier Great for any traveler with allergy issues or if they are traveling to a dry climate. I have really bad allergies and asthma and when I travel to dry places or hotels with forced heat, this has saved me from getting sick. You attach it to a bottle of water and plug it into your USB adaptor (see the first gift) and it will put out a fine mist for about 8 hours. I put it right beside the bed. It works best with an Evian bottle and I just refill the bottle out of the tap. It does have a small blue glow, which makes a nice night light.

Power Bank

If your traveler takes lots of photos for Instagram or uses Google Maps to navigate while traveling, then they need this rechargeable power bank. I have one similar to this and I love that if fits in my pocket and does not weigh much. Great for at the end of the day when you are headed back to your hotel and you have 5% battery left on your phone and your are lost!

There is the one in Thailand; there is one in Florida and a TBEX on a cruise! Next year it is Sweden. Why should you care that I am going to TBEX?! Well, first off I am heading to amazing Bangkok, which, of course, I will review for you in detail, but also it gives me the chance to learn more about travel blogging in the hopes of bringing you better content. There is also the chance that I will discover new places to visit by visiting with the travel industry professionals. Also, I will be meeting other cool travel bloggers and can share with you their amazing trips. I leave on Tuesday and will have this week’s posts ready to go, so nothing on Thailand this week, but if you want a sneak preview you should tune into my Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter accounts for live updates. Sleeper: Giveaway!

September 7, 2015

Sleeper, Sleep Mask, GiveawayIs this you on a plane? It’s me for sure! Has your head ever flopped over while sleeping on an airplane or in a car? I know mine does. Sometimes I think if I could just get my head to stay upright, I would sleep great on a place. Alas, that is not usually the case. Particularly in this day and age of travel, where reclining your seat is akin to stealing! I have never been comfortable sleeping with one of those circular travel pillows. They end up making my neck hurt and then I can’t sleep because I am in pain. Lately, I have taken to raising up the armrest on a plane and shoving a travel pillow into it and sleeping that way. Since I travel at least twice a year on an over 15-hour flight, sleep is essential. I think my problems might be solved with Sleeper!

Sleeper, Sleep Mask, GiveawaySleeper is an ultra soft sleeping mask that you can strap to your seat that covers your eyes and holds your head upright. It folds up or rolls up so that you can store it in your carry-on or purse. When you are ready to sleep, you strap the sleeping mask around the headrest of the seat and then tuck your head under and adjust the strap as needed! That simple! I can’t believe someone didn’t think of this sooner. And a bonus, there is no way your chatty seat mate is going to mistake this for wanting to talk your ear off the entire flight. Pop in some noise canceling headphones and you may not wake up until you land. In the interest of safety, you should only use Sleeper while using your seatbelt both in the car or on a plane.

Sleeper, Sleep Mask, Giveaway

Sleeper contacted me recently to promote their Indiegogo campaign and to offer my readers one Sleeper! They did offer me a sample too, but it has been so popular that I missed out! Their new batch of Sleepers will be out by the end of October and one will be shipped directly to one lucky winner. Anyone can enter from around the world. You can enter from now until October 7, 2015 at Midnight EST. If you don’t win, you can still buy into Sleeper on their Indiegogo campaign and get a Sleeper for only $5 plus shipping!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

A Girl and Her Passport was offered a sample as a way to review the product, but I did not receive one due to their popularity. Sleeper did not offer me any money for this giveaway and all opinions are my own.
