If you hadn’t noticed, I have been quiet on here. This is especially odd since I am in Italy for a month. That is because I have been debating whether or not to continue blogging. Blogging has been my hobby for a while now and I really do enjoy it. However, with a full-time job, it has begun to become stressful and I don’t want it to be. The other part is that the reward is not always visible to me. I enjoy taking photos and sharing my stories, but sometimes get very little feedback from readers. I understand as you are busy too! However, my motivation to blog is waning. I still have tons of ideas for blog posts and have been thinking of tons of stuff for Italy, but I just don’t have the motivation to write them.
Why I am sharing this with you? Well, first I didn’t just want to disappear. Second, I do have a few loyal readers and commentors and I feel I owe you an explanation. Third, I am still not sure what I am going to do long-term when it comes to the blog. Never say never, right? So for now we will call it a break and not a break-up. Maybe I will be back in a month or maybe the blog will morph into something else. Making this decision was difficult, so whatever happens, I will keep you updated here.
For the time being, I am still keeping up with some of my social media and may link to old posts as well. You will still be able to follow my travels! I didn’t say I was going to stop traveling! Click on these links to follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook or scan my Snapcode on the right. I will be honest that Snapchat is my favorite thing at the moment, so it may be the best place to keep up.

Blogging should not be homework – and it’s not a charity! I say give it a break and see how you feel in a while. It should be fun!
Thank you!
HI Tiffany, I think that is one of the drawbacks with blogging – that the results aren’t always visible. But there are so many people who read without commenting. I reckon only one in every one hundred readers actually leaves a message. You’ll be so so glad you have been blogging, as now you have a wonderful diary of all your travels, and I bet that after a while you’ll miss it and come back to it! It has a way of drawing you back in. In the meantime, enjoy the break and I’ll see you on Instagram!
Thank you! If I only had a hundred readers! LOL! See you there!
I know exactly how you feel. I never had a proper blog but still I just lost interest for some reason. I have been meaning to find out how you are enjoying your course etc. Alessio’s gout is improving very slowly and he is now on a very strict anti gout diet. Disappointing and a bit boring. We would love to see you at least one more time before you leave, so keep us in mind. Also consider Spoleto for a visit.
Sorry to hear about Alessio’s gout. I am going to send you an email today!!
Tiffany, I feel like I’ve just started to get to know you. I didn’t sign up that long ago so I’m sad to hear you are taking a break but I totally understand. Blogging can rough and when it starts to stress you out that’s a sure sign that something’s gotta change.
I do wish you the best whatever you choose and that your travels still are the greatest adventure.
Good luck and bye for now, but hopefully not for long.
Hi Kellie! Thank you for your kind words. Hopefully, my blogging mojo will return soon. In the meantime, I hope you will check out some older posts.
The force that compels you to write should be irresistible. Anything less is an ordeal.
Write when you feel passionately about something and want to tell the world about it. You have done a great job here, and while I will miss your fascinating blogs, I will continue to enjoy your snapchat posts. You’re a natural.
Thank you! See you on Snapchat!
I totally understand where you are coming from with taking a break with blogging. You are working full time and things get hectic with work and life. Blog when you feel like it. I understand about the traffic of blogging. I am a new blogger but my expectation are what they are putting out content that is positive and tackling real life topic from an educators point of view. i talk about education, faith, to summer fever. I am blogging because i love to write and someone may find my blogs helpful in there life. Take a break you have blogs that can be seen years from now and it will be just like today. I wish you the Best in whatever you do.
Thank you! It can be hard to keep up with it all. Good luck with your blog!!
Oh, that is a surprise! I totally understand, though. I felt the same sometimes when I feel busy at times or just don’t feel like blogging so for a couple of weeks or so I stopped for awhile but came back the other day haha!
Anyway, I have your number and we can always text each other ok? Take care regards!
Great idea; get your mojo back. This is supposed to be fun, right? Nothing worse than feeling you ought to be doing something… Enjoy the break; looking forward to your return already.
Thanks, Nat! Hoping I get it back.
Hey girl! I love your blog. I found myself in the same situation at the end of last year- I took a break and now I am back at it. Sometimes it may be easier to limit your posts to once a week. This may make it feel less like a chore and make it fun for you again 🙂
Thank you, Mary! I will probably come back and just blog as I am able. It’s just too much work when I am working full time.
Write when an irresistible, overwhelming force compels you to. Write when the words flow so effortlessly from your heart that they fall from your fingers and dance upon the keyboard, bounce off the page, and burst like shooting stars in a desert sky above the eyes of your fellow travellers. Those are the words that will inspire, enlighten, educate and motivate.
That’s when you write.
I really hope you continue blogging. I love reading your posts. You’ve inspired me to head over to Qatar and I’m hoping to go next year.
Hi, Claire, Thank you! I am have gotten a lot of positive feed back about my returning to blogging. I will return, but it will probably be at a different pace and include more about Qatar and expat life. Please let me know if you come! I would love to meet up.
